Post-settlement
questions for the newcomers we sponsored (conducted on a one-to-one basis
by an Arabic interpreter and without anyone from the settlement team being
present)
My Dear Friends:
As you know, your
sponsorship and settlement into Canada has been the first one that the Ripple
Refugee Project group have done. Given
that our group will be undertaking additional sponsorships in the future, we
would like to learn from your experiences so that we can do a better job of
helping people to resettle and integrate into Canada in the future.
إلى العائلة، إن رعيكم وإعادة توطينكم هنا في كندا كان أحد أول الأشياء التي
قامت بها المجموعة Ripple Refugee Project group.
وباعتبار أن مجموعتنا ستقوم برعي المزيد من الأشخاص مستقبلا. نحن نود أن نتعلم من
خبرتكم حتى نتمكن من القيام بعمل أفضل لمساعدة الناس على الاستقرار والاندماج في
كندا في المستقبل.
With this in mind, we
are hoping that you would be willing to provide us much feedback as possible
regarding the questions below, and on any other related topics that you feel
are relevant, via an interview process with an Arab speaker.
بأخذ ذلك بعين الاعتبار نتمنى أن تكونوا راغبين بتزويدنا بردود فعلكم بخصوص الأسئلة الموجودة هنا. أو بخصوص أي أمر تشعرون بأنه متعلق بذلك وذلك من خلال مقابلة مع متحدث باللغة العربية.

No member of the RRP
group will be present and we want to encourage you to be as critical as
possible – so that we can gain the most suggestions and insight into how we can
do a better job in resettling newcomers in the future. Please do not worry about hurting anyone’s
feelings or appearing ungrateful.
Through your comments and suggestions, we can improve how we as a group
do things.

review in advance so that you have some time to think about them before the
interview.

Considering the various members of
the family, what were the most difficult aspects to resettling into Canada?
1- بوجود الأفراد الآخرين من العائلة. ما هي
أصعب الجوانب في إعادة التوطين في كندا؟

For those areas that were the most
difficult, can you think of things that could be done to have made it easier?
(Done either by the RRP group or by your family members themselves?)

What things did the RRP group do
that were the most important, that we should continue to do with future
settlements?

things the RRP group didn’t do, that they should have, or that they could have

the process of resettling into Canada, do you have any recommendations for
future newcomers that they should consider doing, in order for them to get
resettled into Canada more effectively, efficiently?

that you feel are still uncompleted?

have developed between members of the RRP group and your family which will
